SATURDAY. On the weekend trip to Flåm, our main purpose of the trip was to walk on a long mountain hike. The day started early with a sturdy breakfast and we were all suited up in mountain boots and proper gear. First we took a bus to Østerbø, and then we had to walk 2 miles down Aurlandsdalen to end up again where we took the bus. It was a physically demanding hike that took about 7 hours, but I was glad I joined the trip and got to experience beautiful parts of Norway. Provisions and Staples crew Private tourguide! View from the bridge. Halfway. Stopped for a little rest and some hotdogs on the fire. We made it! Celebrating with some akevitt and Jaegermeister. And a cold beer as soon as we got back to the hotell! "Takk for turen!"
This weekend I went on a trip with my colleagues to Flåm that is situated in the innermost part of Aurlandsfjorden. We stayed at Fretheim Hotel, a classic hotel in beautiful surroundings.
Fretheim Hotel.
The famous Flåm railway.
The harbour.
Aurlandsdalen.
So picturesque. Norway is such a beautiful country.
I'm off for little weekend trip with work. I've been looking forward to witness Norwegian nature in Flåm since the invite in February. I've been googling pics of what to expect. I have a feeling that the pictures may not do justice.
I hope to post pics from the trip when I come back. Untill then, have a nice weekend!
